Do not betray our support - Ebira youths tell Kogi APC Governorship aspirant

Kabir The Kogi state governorship aspirant, Alhaji Abdulazeez Omeiza Aliyu has been told not to disappoint the people of Kogi central senatorial district in the face of growing support for his ambition. The call was made yesterday in Abuja when a group of youth from Kogi central met with the aspirant, Alhaji Abdulazeez Omeiza Aliyu who is contesting under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Abatemi-Usman condemns abduction of American missionary in Kogi

The Senator representing Kogi Central in the Red Chamber and candidate of the Progressive Peoples Alliance (PPA) for Kogi Central Senatorial election, Senator Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman, has condemned the abduction of an American missionary, Rev. Mrs. Phillis Sortor in Kogi State. The 80-year-old missionary worker with Methodist Church resident in Emi-Woro community along Ajaokuta/Okene road was reported to have been abducted by unknown gunmen within the church premises on Tuesday. In a statement issued by Abatemi-Usman’s media aide, Michael Jegede, the Senator described as callous and ruthless the action of the kidnappers, wondering what they intend to achieve from putting an old innocent woman who has dedicated her life to the service of God and humanity in Nigeria through such an excruciating pain. KOGI CENTRAL LEADERS CONDEMN RISING CRIME IN THEIR AREA

Leaders of Kogi Central Senatorial Zone met weekend in Abuja to express serious concern about rising crime in their community. DLG of Adavi released unhurt by his abductors

By Ismail M. Kabir The Director of Local Government (DLG) of Adavi LGA, Alhaji Abdulazeez Ohere has been released by his abductors after about a week in captivity. Alhaji Abdulazeez was kidnapped on Sunday last week at his home around the Ekuku area of Agasa in Okene LGA of Kogi state at about 1:00am when gunmen forced their way into his home and whisked him away in his official vehicle to an unknown destination after dispossessing his wife of her valuables. Following his abduction, his family members alerted the police and embarked on public appeal for useful information towards unveiling his whereabout. Speaking with a family source this morning, EbiraView gathered that Abdulazeez Ohere has been safely released and has reunited with his family. According to Engr. Ajaokuta Not Obsolete, Vital for Nigeria's Devt

DLG of Adavi LGA Kidnapped

The Director of Local Government (DLG) , Adavi Local Government Council in Kogi state, Alhaji Abdullazeez Ohere was on Saturday evening kidnapped by some unknown gunmen in his house at Agassa in Okene local government area of the state. According to report by Per Second News, the kidnappers numbering about ten jumped over the fortified fence of the DLG house at Agassa, a community in  Okene local government at about 11 : 00 pm on Saturday. The hoodlums was said to have used a dynamite to break the main door of the house before they gained access to  Ohere's residence. According to source, the kidnappers  on  entering   the house collected all the phones  of occupants in the residence and told the DLG that they were hired to assassinate him , but if he  co-operate they will not kill him. Jonathan Promises To Repackage Ajaokuta Steel Rolling Mills

President Goodluck Jonathan President Goodluck Jonathan has promised to properly repackage the Ajaokuta Steel Rolling Mills in Kogi State if reelected the president of Nigeria for a second term. The president was speaking at a meeting with traditional rulers in Kogi State just before he headed to the stadium to address a rally. The President described Kogi as home for the PDP saying that its role as the first capital city of Nigeria must be recognised. The President also promised that his administration will tap into the solid minerals in the state and provide jobs for the people. The Meeting with Kogi State traditional rulers was presided over by The Attah of Igala and chairman of Kogi State Council of Traditional Rulers, Dr Micheal Ameh Oboni.
