Former AGF’s Uncle Paraded for Kidnapping in Kog

A 72-year-old Ahmed Adoke, an uncle to the former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Adoke, was among the 45 kidnappers  and armed robbery suspects paraded by the police monday in Lokoja , the Kogi State capital. Also paraded  was the All Progressive Congress, (APC) candidate  for the Okehi constituency in the state  House of Assembly  in the last election, Idris Ozi Shuabu; and a cripple who were paraded for being an accessory to  the criminal gang terrorising the people of the state.

BVN Registration : Last minute rush overwhelms banks in Okene

Kabir In a bid to beat the registration deadline of the Bank Verification Number (BVN) recommended by the Central Bank of Nigeria, banks in Okene are besieged daily by desperate customers struggling to get the BVN, a development that now affect motorists in the area.   With barely one week to the close of the registration, customers are seen queued in hundreds around various bank branches in the town from as early as 6.30am in wait for banks' official resumption time of 8.00am.

Revealed: Ebira politicians made empty promises to rebuild Tao FM

Kabir The management board of Ovidi communications (owners of Tao FM Radio station) have published list of donors to the public fund raising appeal circulated across the community following the terror attack on the radio station some months ago. Contrary to rumours making rounds that millions of naira have been raised by the radio station from concerned citizens especially politicians from the community, not a single Ebira politician has so far contributed a dime to the purse of the radio station as the list indicates. It could be recalled that shortly after the deadly attack by unknown gunmen that claimed four lives and caused major damage to the building housing the FM station in Kuroko Adavi LGA of Kogi State on Monday April 27th 2015,  an urgent appeal to raise funds for the revival of the darling station was raised by Ebira Youth Congress (EYC). An aspirant for the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Kogi State, on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman has called on Muslim faithful to use the Holy Month of Ramadan to pray for the continuous peaceful co-existence and unity of the country. Former speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly has assured his constituents, the people of Okene-Ogori Magongo federal constituency of Kogi state, of a robust representation that will bring dividends of democracy for the electorate in the constituency. Unpaid Salary: Kogi Police fire tear gas, beat protesting Teachers

 BY BANABAS ATTAH- ABUJA (Per Second News ) Police on Thursday fired tear gas on primary school teachers in Kogi state during a protest over non payment of 2014 November and December salaries as well as  other entitlement and allowances. The teachers under the Basic Education Staff Association of Nigeria, (BASAN) who  converged at Nataco junction in Lokoja were on a peaceful protest to the office of the State Universal Basic Education Board, when the police engaged them. Per Second News learnt that some of the protesters sustained injuries.  Addressing Journalists before the police attack,the BESAN chairman, Comrade Adomu Sule, said the protest was in reaction to the statement credited to the Chairman of SUBEB that the state government was not owing basic education teachers. Supreme Court affirms Ado Ibrahim as Ebiraland monarch

By ADE ADE‎SOMOJU (Punch News). HRM Alh. Ado Ibrahim  The Supreme Court on Friday affirmed Alhaji Ado Ibrahim as the Ohinoyi of Ebiraland of Kogi State. Ibrahim was appointed the paramount ruler of Ebrialand by the then Military Administrator of Kogi State, Col. Bzigu Afakirya, on June 2, 1997, but a suit challenging his appointment was instituted before the Kogi State High Court on March 6, 1998. Ibrahim appealed to the Supreme Court after he was ordered to be deposed by the concurrent judgments of both the Kogi State High Court where the matter started and subsequently the Jos Division of the Court of Appeal.
