The History of Ebiraland is replete with many historical events. A comprehensive chronology is presented below.
YEAR OF EVENTS.
1. 1903 Time of Odimboro of Okunchi.People managed to escape the inferno. Odimboro himself was not burnt.People still came back to bury him.

2. 1910 Catholic church, okene built.
3. 1912 Disastrous famine of Osinageri.
4. 1916 Birth of Pa Alhaji Alabi Ohiani.
5. 1917 Birth of Pa Momoh Ajagu Obeito
6. 1917 Roman Catholic school Okene founded.
7. 1917 Installation of Ibrahim Onoruoiza as Atta of Ebiraland
8. 1918 Time of Akuosu i.e. general influenza after 1st world war
9. 1920 Birth of pa Isah Danga
10. 1922-25 Time of Oivo Arimoh i.e Arimoh’s i.eArimoh’s white man, Major T.A.G. Budgen.
11. 7/5/25 Obangede Riots.
12. 1926 Time of Ogumare i.e construction of Eastern railway line.
13. 1927 Construction of Atta’s palace
14. 1927 Okene prison and Osara mini old bridge opened.
15. 1927 Death of Atta’s Mother,.
16. 1927 Lambete i.e present central school Okene(now AAAMCO) opened
17. 1928-29 Public news of Aladura.
18. 1929 Invasion by Locust i.e AKUVARIVA – These insects destroyed farm crops inEbiraland.
19. 1929 Ibrahim Atta’s Holy pilgrimage to Mecca.
20. 1930 Okevere of okene – Eba started Ekuechi festival performance
21. 1932 Death of Ogbojo of Osisi.
22. 1932 Prisoners killed by thunder.
23. 1934 Acheweru Idoji , started Ekuechi festival
24. 1934 Birth of Alhaji Abdulmalik Atta.
25. 1935 Death of Aragaraga i.e Atta’s Father
26. 1935 Death of Okino, the great Hunter
27. 1936 Construction of Okene water works (Okuhavi)
28. 1937 introduction of Oganya, Okene cemetery.

32. 1944 Salt scarcity /stampede when a big stone fell on Madam Anahi and killed herWhen people were rushing to buy salt which was so scarce.
33. 1945 Death of Okaraga, the Ohindase of Okene.
34. 1946 Death of Omade of Obehira.
35. 1947 Alhaji Abdulmalik Atta Went to Mecca.
36. 1948 Death of Ichimiri.
37. 1949 Building of Okene post office.
38. 1950 Alhaji Atta killed an Elephant.
39. 1951 Ebira General Riots.
40. 1952 Construction of Teacher’s college i.e Ukpogo (Now O.S.S).
41. 1952 Construction of Okene central mosque.
42. 1953 Completion of Okene central mosque.
43. 1954 Removal of Alhaji Ibrahim Atta as the paramount ruler of Ebiraland
44. 1956 Installation of Muhammadu Sani Omolori as Ohinoyi of Ebiraland
45. 1959 Installation of Ozumi of Ogu clan, Pa Chief Onujagbe.
46. 1962 Death of Ozigizigi of Obehira.
47. 1962 Death of Anakara (Ozigizigi’s successor).
48. 1964 Death of Ibrahim Atta former ruler of Ebiraland.
49. 1965 Death of Mr. George Ohikere, former Chairman, Nigerian ports Authority, LagosAnd the Minister ofWorks in Northern Region.
50. 1967 Invasion of Biafran Army into Ebiraland.

Ismail M. Kabir, Lagos. Between controversial existence and a contentious exit. There are various sides to a story. For an event that happens with few or no significant eye witness, the news come in different versions; some partially correct, others completely cooked up. In some cases, such non-witnessed event pass round as rumour until eventually confirmed. Rumour it was, when a phone call from Okene announced the death of two famous Ebira youths! They were killed by the Police, reported the news. Being on a Sunday when nothing too special should ensue save for the usual church services and social functions, the news sounded as the most unexpected, as a matter of fact, incredible!
