Ebira politics and the Enemies within by Team Gamji support group

As the dust raised following the Kogi state APC governorship primaries continue to settle and the reality of the people of Kogi Central (KC) missing out on the ticket remains a constant reminder of the pains bottled in our heart, there is the need to continue to reflect on that political event which promises so much but deliver so little. This is particularly necessary, so that the lessons learnt from that political journey can be properly analysed as it will help to shape our future conduct and provide a guide to our plans if such opportunity ever present itself again.
Several issues had been thrown up, many reasons had been given for the zero report card, blame games had been traded, curses had been rained and yet, not much light has been beamed on the “real enemies” within our political system.
As a group that promoted the aspiration of Alh. Sanusi Abubakar (Gamji), we are proud of the conduct, determination and maturity he brought into the political life of  Ebira nation and we remain resolute on the peace and oneness of Ebiraland as we are committed to the progress and development of our people and fatherland and by extension a pledge to a true and undiluted Ebira agends as these were the very qualities that define the person of  Alh. Sanusi Abubakar that makes him stand out and bearing in mind that he reserves the right to contest the elections.
Alh. Sanusi’s care and support for the Ebira people and humanity in general has no limit and knows no boundary. His commitment to the betterment and development and development of our land can better be understood by taking a peep at his unrivalled records of several interventions he has made in the area of health care, support for youth education through sponsorship and scholarships, support for market women, distribution of transformers, robust support for political in the power shift struggle, involvement in peace and conflict resolution in the land e.t.c.
Therefore, to support such a person in any human endeavour, politically or otherwise is to encourage him and his likes to continue to do more for our land and a clear signal to other sons and daughters of our land, that, indeed, it is good to be good.
Hence, when is the wisdom of the main APC leaders in KC and KW, they decided to source for a different personality which is not only good they decided to source for a different personality which is not only good enough to win the party’s governorship primary election, but more than good enough to win the general elections, settling for the choice of Alh.Sanusi Abubakar was as befitting as it was easy.
In accepting to john the APC governorship race, he was honest enough to state that he will need to consult widely with the main political leaders as the required political structure especially the delegates were under their control. He did promise that if the outcome of his consultations was favorable and positive, he will put his utmost best in the project to ensure that victory is achieved.
Indeed, the outcome looks favorable and positive judging from the body languages, actions and utterances of these politicians in the days and weeks to follow before the primary. It’s on record that Alh.Sanusi did not just secure the individual approval of senator Ohiare and former senator Ohize, he equally settled their long standing feud and they started working together to actualize this laudable project.

As a result of the renewed interest and togetherness shown by these politicians, which they also displayed by holding meetings and developing strategies together, Alh. Sanusi Abubukar began to satisfy all the demands (financial or otherwise) made on him. He began to bankroll the activities of the politicians, the super middle men controlling delegates as well as the delegates themselves, in an extended and expanded effort to liberate our people. Even the realization that the APC in Okene local government area of the state was in crisis and had two factions each spearheaded by Jegendo and Adai Haruna Okuku at that time, did not go down well with him and he immediately put a mechanism in place to resolve the issues. They were indeed settled and brought together by Alh.Sanusi, in a calculated and conscious effort to make sure that the project succeed.

Our conviction and that of Alh. Sannusi was further heightened when the political leaders began the process of introducing the delegates to him and vice-versa. Several meetings were held either at his residence or at designated places. Infact Alh. Sanusi invited each of the five local government delegates of KC to his country home one after the other to candidature as announced and directed by the party leaders ie, the duo of senator Ohiare and senator Ohize as well as the APC state chairman, Alh. Hadi Ametuo. Their responses was an emphatic endorsement for Alh. Sanusi Abubakar and they all pledged their total support for the project. This is verifiable from the pictures below.
Alh. Sanusi Abubakar, more than any other aspirant also went ahead to satisfy the traditional and cultural requirements for seeking such elective position. He met with the leaders and elders of Okovi, Agada and Ada-ehi clans respectively to present himself and the position of the political leaders to them as well as to seek for their support and blessings for the project. It’s on record that their acceptance and support for the project was overwhelming. How can someone who has taken these necessary steps and demonstrated tremendous respect for political structures, the elders and their opinions, be accused of jumping into the in actual sense, it was only after Alh. Sanusi joined the race that the polical leaders and their structures were consciously mobilized and brought together to work for Gamji who was more than qualified to lead the charge to prosecute the Ebira agenda and power shift respectively.
Once the majority of the stakeholders had given their approval and agreed to the terms of the project for a successful outing in the interest of Ebiraland, Alh Sanusi did not hestitate to answer to the opportunity to serve. At every stage, Alh. Sanusi continue to satisfy his own side of the bargain. How was he to know that in spite of all the assurances given and the huge amount of money they collected especially as delegates, that they still harbor ulterior motives against the interest of Ebiraland?.
On the eve of the primary, Alh. Sanusi made arrangements and transported over 1,500 delegates from the three senatorial zones to Lokoja majority of which were from KC. He accommodated them, fed them and created a conducive atmosphere for them to relax and enjoy themselves and they were constantly briefed and reminded of the suffering of our people under this tyrants that has been ruling the state and the need to seize the opportunity and change the situation for once. On the day of the primary, these delegates lined up to collect N 100,000.00 each to take care of other expense and logistics, all in a bid to keep them focused on the poject. If some of these greedy and dishonest delegates now went ahead and still fell for promissory notes to do the bidding of some selfish political leaders and supper middle men, as well as the bidding of some unseen hands, how was Alh. Sanusi suppose to know?
The erroneous claim from some quarters that some aspirants were popular based on the outcome of the results was achieved as a result of a complete dummy and fraud played on the greedy delegates. While Alh. Sanusi Abubakar honesty paid all the delegates. While Alh. Sanusi Abubakar honestly paid all the delegates, the amount he promised, some of his opponents deceived the delegates with promissory notes ranging between N300,000.00 to N 1,000,000.00 to secure their vote and all of such delegates are now licking their wounds today as the promissory notes were never redeemed.
It must be said however, that when it was clear that senator Ohiare could not secure the co-operation of the other aspirant from KC to agree  on a consensus arrangement to be represented the Alh. Sanusi Abubakar, like the KW has demonstrated by stepping down for him, the fight for delegates became messy and untidy and Alh. Sanusi chose not to participate in such opened scramble for delegates. This was all in a bid for the peace and unity of our land to be maintained.  Even a member of the party executive who pretended to also doubles as a representative of Gamji, traded the delegates from KW that was kept under his watch to his opponent based on a promissory note of N2,000,000.00 which he never got too.
The man,Alh sanusi Abubakar has taken the event in his stride and has since described the event as part of the continuous sacrifices that is necessary for a better tomorrow.
The party executives, some polical leaders, majority of the delegates from Kogi Central and their middle men should explain to ebira people how they could be so greedy and dishonest to pretend to be for power shift and yet mortgaged the opportunity to win the APC ticket even after collecting so much from Alh.sanusi Abubakar and possibly some stipends from other spirants.
Alh, Sanusi Abubakar has consistently shown love and care for his father land, a man that had committed a substantial part of his personal wealth for the peace, development and progress of his father land. We can only pray that God will continue to provide you with the strength, wisdom and more resources to continue to do more for the upliftment of Ebira nation and humanity is general. You have paid your dues and your charity began from your home. Your foundation is solid as we await the super structure by the special grace of God.
For those that are interested in knowing who the “real enemies” of our land are, direct your search light on the delegates, some political leaders, supper middle men controlling delegates and the unseen hands in the society.

Long live Ebiraland, long live Kogi state, long live Nigeria.

God bless us and our land.
Thanks.

The case of Ahmed Awela, Murtala (Eti Bobo) among other Ebira youths

Ismail M. Kabir, Lagos. Between controversial existence and a contentious exit. There are various sides to a story. For an event that happens with few or no significant eye witness, the news come in different versions; some partially correct, others completely cooked up. In some cases, such non-witnessed event pass round as rumour until eventually confirmed. Rumour it was, when a phone call from Okene announced the death of two famous Ebira youths! They were killed by the Police, reported the news. Being on a Sunday when nothing too special should ensue save for the usual church services and social functions, the news sounded as the most unexpected, as a matter of fact, incredible! The thought of losing such youths on an ordinary day like Sunday undoubtedly was the reason for the astonishment. Not a single person of Ebira origin, within or outside the soil would believe such shocker upon first hearing. Text messages, phone calls and of course physical enquiries lingered, all in an atte

The Obege legend

In the earliest generations when the art of magic was yet a myth to the people, there was born a boy into a family of hunters in the village of Eika - one of the six communities that comprised the ancestral groups. He was believed to have been born with a leaf in his hand and to the elders of then, that was prognostic of what he would be - a native healer. And had grown up performing wonders. His kinsmen were all hunters, they would deny the boy the opportunity to follow them hunting, purely on age ground - and he was really too young to go hunting in the forest. They would leave him in the house with the women as they set out on their hunting expedition. But they had meet the young Obege in the forest roasting a fair member of the forest’s game, all alone - and unarmed! The elders had to defer to this wonderful boy. Obege as an adult was more than human. His fame had spread all over the land: he was a healer of most seemingly incurable diseases, he was a rain maker, assumed more divin
