Breaking News: Buhari grants financial autonomy to state judiciary, Houses of Assembly

PRESIDENT Muhammadu Buhari has signed the Fourth Alteration Bill that grants financial autonomy to State Judiciaries and State Houses of Assembly into law. The Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (senator), Senator Ita Enang disclosed this to State House correspondents on Friday. Senator Enang said, “I just want to inform you that His Excellency President Muhammadu Buhari today assented to the Constitution Fourth Alteration Bill which grants financial authonomy and independence to the Houses of Assembly of the respective states and to the Judiciary of the respective states. “Therefore upon this signature the amounts standing to the credit of the judiciary are to be now be paid directly to the judiciary of those states, no more through the governors and no more from the governors. “And then the amounts standing to the credit of the Houses of Assembly of the respective states are now to be paid directly to the Houses of Assembly of that

Kogi State signs MoU with BilVisco Investment Ltd for the Reticulation of Osara Dam

Kabir The perennial water scarcity in Kogi central will soon be history as Kogi State government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with an investment company for the reticulation of Osara Dam for the supply of potable water to the entire district. This revelation was made yesterday in Lokoja by the state's Commissioner for Water Resources, Barr. Abdulsalam Ozigi Deedat while fielding question from newsmen shortly after the signing of the MoU with Bilvisco Investment Ltd. Barr. Deedat described the moment as memorable and historic, owing to the long neglect of Osara Dam and its attendant water scarcity to the people of Kogi Central senatorial district over the years. Ifeoluwa Adeyemo Nigeria has recovered ownership of Ajaokuta Steel Company, ASC, and National Iron Ore Mining Company Limited, NIOMCO, Itakpe, following the resolution of a protracted legal dispute. The Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Kayode Fayemi disclosed this on Thursday in Abuja at the maiden meeting of the National Council on Mining and Mineral Resources Development. He said Nigeria and Global Infrastructure Nigeria Limited, GINL, have signed a ‘Modified Concession Agreement’ resolving their protracted dispute on the two companies located in Kogi State. Published by: Sundiatapost.com July 26, 2017 The Ebira Youth Congress in Kogi has appealed to the Federal Government to engage TyazhPromExport (TPE), a Russian company, on bilateral agreement to complete the moribund Ajaokuta Steel Company. Mr Baba Abdulrazak, President General of the congress, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Tuesday in Abuja that government should meet with TPE construction company to complete the remaining two per cent work for Ajaokuta to become operational. He said the TPE company built Ajaokuta steel to its current level, adding that the Russians knew the remaining areas that should be completed. He said that the company should not only complete the project but government should also concession the steel company to TPE to operate the project after completion for few years. “The TPE is the original builder of Ajaokuta steel company; it has the requisite technology and manpower to bring the company on board. ” We are not against government
