Kogi Hosts North Central Public Hearing On Review Of The Revenue Allocation Formula By RMAFC

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Thursday, played host to stakeholders from the North Central Region during a zonal public hearing on the review of the vertical revenue allocation formula by the Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC). Deputy Governor, Chief (Dr.) Edward Onoja declared the Hearing open on behalf of Governor Bello at the State Government House, stating that a comprehensive review is overdue. He noted that the existential realities facing the 3 Tiers of Government necessitate a more equitable sharing plan for all revenue accruing into the Federation Account. Welcoming his guests, he made a case for his brother governors in Nigeria on the need for the Federal Government to relinquish portions of her allocation to other tiers since it boasts of a larger 52.68 percent, while the 36 states and the FCT split 26.72 percent, with the Local Government Councils settling for 20.60 percent. Professional Hunters Rescued Kidnapped Victims In Okene

Professional hunters attached to Okene Local Government in the late hours of Wednesday 20th October, 2021 requested and secured approval from the Council Chairman Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad to embark on rescue operation at Eretuba forest along Okene-Auchi road after credible intelligence of their location from the locals. The victims, an indigene of Osun state were kidnapped on Monday 18ths October, 2021 along Okene/Ogori-Magongo road. The discreet operation by the professional hunters was successful as the kidnapped victims were rescued unhurt while the kidnappers escaped with various degree of bullet wounds. Locally made guns, charms, rustled castles and other items were also recovered. Sadly, one of the professional hunters paid the supreme price in the course of the operation. He has since been buried in accordance with Islamic injunctions. Hon. Abdulrazaq sympathized with the outfit and assured the professional hunters of government continue support and determination

The statesman who in his time freed the slaves, has a few enemies in posterity, whereas the literary patron and teacher has none.  We thank Gaius Maecenas for the nobility of soul we attribute to Virgil; but he isn’t blamed for the selfishness and egocentricity that the poet possessed. The patron creates 'literature through altruism,' something not even the greatest genius can do with a pen.  For Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, she is a first class 21st century teacher cum nation builder. She ensured on-the-job learning by working in open offi
