RE: OWO TERROR ATTACK - An open Letter

My dear fellow compatriots of Ebira nation, no doubt, the last two days or so have been very trying for all well-meaning Anebira and, by extension, friends of Ebira across the nation who are well-informed of what the true Ebira man represents and stands for, and therefore have chosen to stand by us firmly. Ultimately, it was indeed a moment that attempted to put to test our age-long values of honesty, industry and abhorrence for evils in their forms, not minding the few black sheep that are inherent in every community. This explains the barrage of reactions, responses and general comments of the generality of Ebira people to this heart shattering news that have been largely judicious. It essentially reinforces, before the world, the aversion of the Ebira man for evil and anything untoward for his fellow human.  It goes without saying that had the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) exercised minimal diligence in his reportage of the feat by the concerned operatives, the resultant confusio...

OPEN LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY, ROTIMI AKEREDOLU, EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR ONDO STATE ON THE INVOLVEMENT OF ANEBIRA IN OWO MASSACRE

By Nasir Onujagbe It is a great shock and pathetic to read from the social media that Anebira was involved in the all condemned Owo massacre which was popularly believed to have been spearheaded by the conventional terrorist, like Bandits, Boko Haram and or ISWAP. However, the statements from the military quarters have shifted the search to some elements in Ebira nation which in all circumstances wasn't palatable to majority of us(Ebira nation). "EBIRA" by definition represent good character, love and care for neighbours with utmost humility and fear of God. A typical Anebira is known for hardworking, sincerity, honesty and incorruptible in nature as reflected in the definition of the term "EBIRA". The People of Ebira nation are predominately farmers with dignity and respect for legitimate earnings hence we rejects indolence and illegality from our way of life. The long time neighborliness of the good people of Ondo State in accommodating us to occupy their land...

A NOTE FROM OGO'OGU MD TO HON KABIR AJANNAH, MEMBER, HOUSE OF REPRENTATIVE ADAVI/OKEHI CONSTITUENCY

Ladies and gentlemen of kogi state, I salute you all. We are in a season where we must not sleep with our two eyes closed. "the moment we the citizen fold our arms and zip our mouth, the abuse of government begins" As we know good governance is not just the responsibility of the elected even the electorates have enormous role to play to make this a reality. In today politics,  the greatest factor that choke good governance is the electorate factor. We have in various forms contributed to the abuse of power in our dear state. Many of us who are wailing and complaining of hardship in the state today have forgotten so soon how they sold their votes during election for a morsel of porridge. This might not mean anything to you but I tell you the truth, that is where abuse of power began. But my assignment today is not to speak to KOGITES in general but to contribute my quota to the development and progress of my constituency, Okehi/Adavi, Federal Constituency under the represen...

GOOD LEADERSHIP, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND TRANSPARENCY: A TRIPARTITE REQUIREMENTS FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE EXPECTED FROM LOCAL GOVERNMENT ADMINISTRATORS

Dear Governor, Alh. Yahaya Bello Your excellency, the executive governor of kogi state, let me once again use this opportunity to celebrate your fantabulous leadership style as a young man who God has called to serve his people in the most unexpected providential manner. It is obvious to all that your ascension to the driver seat of Kogi State affairs is to rescue it from it's deplitating state and set it on high for rapid growth and development. My prayer for you is that He who called you for service will guide you through in Jesus name. Time will not permit me to highlight your achievements within the short time in the office in apposition with the previous administrations which were characterised by gloss incompetence and marginalization of many sorts. I am however delighted by your courageous and unwavering step to constitute a judicial commission of enquiry to probe the past administration in order to set the record straight in kogi State. Your excellency sir, I cannot be q...

Stop Fighting ‘God’: An Open Letter to Senator Dino Melaye

Distinguished Senator, “Kogi voted for Audu but God voted for Yahaya Bello”. Perhaps, this quote should have been the title of this letter, but before I delve into the kernel of this note to you, it is appropriate to first establish my locus standi. I am a native of Ihima in Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi state. Secondly, I am a journalist with close affinity to the hierarchy of the APC and INEC. Thirdly, I am a youth. Although, I am not your constituent, but the above qualifications provide sufficient premises for me to draw conclusions or contribute to issues that have to do with Kogi, APC or the nation, particularly in the realm of politics. I would have called your cell-phone to bare my mind to you, but knowing from experience, that you hardly pick calls nor reply text messages of people you have not met or interacted with before, I have chosen this medium only as a last resort. When in late January, during the swearing-in of “Mallam” Bello, in a cra...

MOMOH OBARO WRITES SENATOR ABUBAKAR BUKOLA SARAKI

Dear Abubakar Bukola Saraki My Distinguished Senator and Senate President: I am forced to send this letter through this media hopefully it will get to you. I have no other means to reach you. I am sending this letter for 3 reasons: - I was one of those who donated to your Governorship project in 2003 at Muson centre in Lagos. So by that act I had become an investor in the “Bukola Project” and as an investor I should be concerned by the performance of that investment. - Secondly you raised my hope when you promised real change when you became the Senate president in June last year. - Thirdly you belong to my generation (those that were born on or after Nigeria independence in 1st October 1960).  This is important because if we that took over from fathers who fought for independence could not maintain what they handed over to us, then history will not forgive us. The purpose of this letter is to let you know that the “Bukola” brand is sickening to the pub...

AN OPEN LETTER TO GOVERNOR IDRIS ICHALA WADA THE OUT-GOING GOVERNOR OF KOGI STATE

Your Excellency Sir, Those who advised you not to pay civil servant their legitimate entitlement, has given you the most thoughtless and wicked advice. These Decision has subject millions into untold hardship. "The prophet  said when a servant works for you, pay him even before his sweat get dried." So as to enjoy the fruits of his labour. But you have deprived  many  parents there only source of livelihood for over 90 Good days(3 month). We don't have any power over you because we belief that the authority you have now which is been used to oppress and humiliate  us is from God and we also belief that you have him to  answer to. But before you take your last step out of Luguard House remember these questions; Do you have idea how many homes u have broken?  Do u have idea how many lives u have shattered ? Do u in any way knows that leadership is service to humanity? Your Excellence sir, where is your Humanity? Where is your fear of God? Do you st...

Yar'adua as arbiter of Ebira peace

... Yet it is high time Ebiraland is freed of violence, and delay can be more than dangerous and less than hell. For that enduring peace, we cannot afford to be an inch away from telling it as it is before Mr. President (if we must not lead him to compounding the violence in the land, while deferring our progress till thy kingdom come). Mr. President, as you are considered the arbiter of Ebira Peace, one thinks it helpful letting you know that the whole bloody confusion suffered in Ebiraland today is rooted in one jointly known divisional totem clan. Clans in Ebiraland - as it worked with the demography, age, educational and technological insights of our forebears - are finding it difficult to fit in with the modern system of generational survival; its place in modern age remain as it was. That change remains a permanent condition is a joke in the presence of clans, leadership and followership in Eibraland. Clannish totems remain the determinant of whom leadership caps fit, when it fit...

Send silence to the dust-bin

I am Yeesuf M. Uhuanamoh. When i saw Ebira on net, through this site, i was so much trilled that i quictly joined the website some time late last year. I want to say that you are all doing a big, good job! Please keep the flag flying and never listen to any form of opposion or discouragement. Hosting Ebira as a tribe and Anebira as a people on net had pictured us as a social, educated and advanced group of peolple. With regards to your letter in my mail-box, sent to me on Friday, 12th of January 2007, it is completely true that we have not being receiving dividend of democracy in our land just because many of our enlightened people have not agitated positively at the federal government level. There is not crime in asking. It think the task in our hand right now is to know that Nigeria is ours and therefore, we should put keeping silence into dustbin and reach out for what we should enjoy both nationally and at state level. Permit me also to use this medium to say that we should look in...
