Ebira Opete hits the air On NTA Lokoja

The famous Ebira TV talk show, Ebira Opete from the stable of Ebira Opete Communications will begin airing from NTA Lokoja, Kogi state. The program, slated to begin Monday the 18th of August 2008 promises to take Ebiras by storm. Speaking with EbiraView in Ikeja Lagos, program anchor, Mrs. Memunat Ozianahutu Mukhtar said the decision to broadcast from Lokoja was in response to the pressures from their teeming viewers to bring the program closer to the people who form the primary focus of the show. According to her, the positive response from some well meaning Anebira to their appeal for securing airtime at the homefront contributed to the commencent of the show in Lokoja. She however appealed to Ebiras home and abroad to ensure the sustenance of the program in Lokoja while stressing the need to take the program to major TV stations across the country. Responding, his colleague, Musa Ozi Ohi described the step as 'too necessary at a time like this' stressing lamenting the lack o

Unsure expectation: Kogi LG Polls 2008

As Kogi electorates head to the polling boots tomorrow, Saturday the 26th of July 2008 to vote their choice candidate for their respective Local Government Areas (LGAs), one is unsure of what to expect particularly from a state known for political violence. The state police command has assured a violence-free electioneering inspite of the tense political atmosphere across the state. Our investigation reveals that in the past few days, people have started leaving the state for fear of likely breakdown of law and order before, on and after the election day which many fear will be a 'hot day'. As usual, EbiraView will be updating you in realtime on progress reports while requesting our site visitors to share their findings as the election progresses. Comments and updates should be posted to our news site by visiting this link http://ebiraview.net/news/?p=48#respond Wishing the state a peaceful poll.

Gorigo (beneseed or sesame seed) redefined

As one of the most cherished seeds by Anebira, Gorigo gift is the first most requested of an Ebira traveler arriving a destination from Ehi (home). 'Gorigo aami yo (where is my gorigo)?', his or her Ebira family, friends and colleagues would ask upon first sight. This is due to the rareness and unbeatable taste of the seeds. The Ebira koto accuses Ebira Tao of migrating from their Koto community for the sole objective of Gorigo planting. Wether this is true or a mere joke is no longer important. Today, Gorigo is hawked by young Ebira girls around Motor parks as Ebiras travel from home. Spiced with roasted beans or ground nuts, Gorigo is a delicious traditional food Ebiras hate missing. Its soup 'Epe gorigo' is usually served with hot pounded yams. Inspite of the fame attributed to the seed by Anebira, it is hardly found among Ebira communities outside of Ebiraland. This scarcity informed the decisioon for modernisation of the gorigo business. Ess Project Concept in conj

Engr. Ahmed Onogoh is dead !

Ahead of 2007 general election, Ebiraland has lost another political icon; a son, and achiever and sadly enough, a senatorial candidate. Between the hours of 7 and 8pm on friday the 20th of October 2006, just immediately after taking his iftar (termination of fasting), Engr. Ahmed Onogoh breathed his last in his Kaduna home. Meanwhile he was supposed to attend a meeting shortly after the meal, unfortunately, he couldn't make it. It is indeed another tragedy for the Ebiras as his death marked the third of similar tragedies within a short space of 5 months. EbiraView hopes to do an extensive coverage of his burial. May his gentle soul rest in an everlasting peace... Readers' comment
