Miriam Ikunaiye was recently appointed to the African Affairs advisory Board with the Montgomery County Government in Maryland. In a letter to EbiraView, she said She hopes to use the opportunity to bring focus and assistance to Ebira community. According to her, the month of September has been declared African Heritage month in Montgomery County, the first county to do so in the history of America. What this means is that there will be lines of annual activities every September to promote Africa and African immigrants in the County. She sheds more light.
