Ebira Personality Profile: Edward Jatto

Ed Jatto: African music and rhymes is a multi-talented instrumentalist who has toured and performed extensively for over 15 years in USA.A native of Ebira in Kogi state of Nigeria, Ed Jatto performed on over 100 recordings (albums and CDs) and is recognised in the who's who in African Music live performances and CD recordings.

Jatto a song writer, musician and producer who came back home to his native country Nigeria in 2004 to start a recording studio is also the owner of Riverdale Music Recording Studio in Maryland, USA. An experienced singer and recording Engineer he has in the past worked with International recording artiste and group like THIRD WORLD (Jamaica), KING YELLOW MAN (Jamaica), SOUKOUS ALL STARS (Congo), SONY OKOSUN (Nigeria), EBENEZER OBEY (Nigeria), JEAN PAPPY (Congo), SAM MANGWANA (Congo), AYINDE BARRISTER (Nigeria), OSITA OSADEBE (Nigeria), OLIVER DE COQUE (Nigeria), TONY OKOROJI (Nigeria), OSEI KOFI (Ghana), ALEX OBENG (Ghana), ASTER AWEKE (Ethiopia), ZULU SPEAR (South Africa), BUSTA RHYME (USA), LIL KIM (USA) etc.


On his arrival to Nigeria, he was given the responsibility of the Technical Director who overlooked the technical aspect of hosting the Miss Nigeria Beauty Pageant by Daily Times of Nigeria 2003, and also performed live alongside of other musicians like PASUMA and ARA. He also featured on Sunny Okosun and friends' Music and video recorded for COJA 2003.


Committed to uplifting Ebira image, EdJatto launched Ebira program on TV namely Ebira Opete and Ebira Kaneri. The programmes run on Eagle (Cable) TV Lagos; Wednesdays 4-5pm, Saturdays, 9-10am. Similarly, the program run on NTA Kabba in Kogi state, Thursdays, 4-5pm while negotation for airing same show on NTA Ado-Ekiti in Ekiti state is on-going. Ebiras nationwide now tune in to the program for its entertainment and interractivity. His sojourn across the world hasn't doused the love and concern for his native land.

  2. He is a son of consolation and i believe in him is the zeal and desire to keep Ebirans in one love and unity, Ebira people will soon experienced the same spirit to conquer the evil that hovering around Ebira causing confusion, fighting and killing of one another.

For an event that happens with few or no significant eye witness, the news come in different versions; some partially correct, others completely cooked up. In the earliest generations when the art of magic was yet a myth to the people, there was born a boy into a family of hunters in the village of Eika - one of the six communities that comprised the ancestral groups.
