  2. This story needs editing, both the spelling, grammar and even names. One of the current Otaru's names (his picture appearson this page) is Adeche, not Adeje.

  3. I must specially commend your efforts for giving Ebira tribe the space it deserves in the global quest for relevance and as one of the formidable tribes though divided variously by state creations. Keep the fire lite on.
    Let me quickly react to your article "Ebira Etuno leaders bear their minds on Anebira Opete" and the information it contains. As a journalist of your repute, the need for a balanced and accurate reportage can never be over emphasised especially when it bothers on the history of a people.
    Igarra chieftancy has assumed a serious dimension that stakeholders like you should be on top of the fact so that the case where Afemai Newspapers was fed on lie and it reported it as such thereby leading to a situation where the paper was made to apologize and make a rejoinder will not repeat itself.
    The OTARU OF IGARRA is the paramount ruler of Igarra people. the EDO STATE EDIT gave credence to this reality therefore he is the only Highness representing the people at the EDO STATE COUNCIL OF TRADITIONAL RULERS of which the OBA OF BENIN heads.
    For administrative convenience, the OTARU OF IGARRA is assisted in the rulership of the town by some notable chiefs.

    OKOMAYIN OGUN (REPRESENTING ESHINOGUN ROYAL FAMILY);
    OKOMAYIN AVAKA (REPRESENTING ESHINAVAKA ROYAL FAMILY);

    UKHANA AGUMAGU, KING MAKER (REPRESENTING ESHIMOZOKO FAMILY);

    For a better, broader and unbiased codification of the Igarra Rulership, I shall recommend books like;

    BRIEF HISTORY OF IGARRA AND HIS NEIGHBOURS BY DR. PARTICK A. AMUNE; and
    TRIBUTE TO A HERO BY DR. PATRICK A. AMUNE.
    You also wish to take a visit to the EDO STATE MINISTRY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND CHIEFTANCY AFFAIRS.
    It will interest you to know that there are avalanche of decided cases to support this position of mine. As a journalist, you are expected to take judicial notice of court decisions and so respect them. I will spare you such serious oversight because of your effort to give adequate voice to our people.
    GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR WORK

    2. One do not need to come from Igarra to know that your respons to this interview is full of falseholds and biasness.
      For clarity sake, Otaru Ariwo Obejojo is the Head of Eziezu group of clans which are made up of Andede, Eshinagada, Eshinogu, Eshinavaka and Andiba, with the Okomayin title holders within his group of clans are his own chiefs, in the same vane Oshidu is the head of Eziobe group of clans which comprises of Eziodu, Ezioga, Eziakuta, Anoverewa and Eziakozi and Oseh title holders in that group are his chiefs, so also the Oshemi Onayinmi is the Head of Eshimozoko clan with the Ukana title holders as his chiefs, while Oshemdasi Ooreyin as the Head of Anonyente clan and the Oseh title holders within his clan as his chiefs just as Otu Koin Koin is the Head of Anona and the Oseh in his clan are his chiefs.
      The so called ``Ukana Agumagu, Oseh and Emah title holders`` are the dissenting members of Eshimozoko, Eziakuta and Anoseri clans

  4. BE SURE UR FACTS ARE CORRECT B4 PUBLISHING DEM. THE OTARU OF IGARRA IS D PARAMOUNT RULER OF IGARRA.

  5. Otaru of Igarra, of which is greeted in the credence of Otaru Ariwo Obejojo, a Yoruba phrase now corrupted as ``Otaru Ariwo Ovejijo`` is the Head of Eziezu group of clans namely:- Andede, Eshinagada, Eshinogu, Eshinavaka and Andiba, though it is politically recognised as a`` traditional ruler`` which is stll subject to litigation in the law court, and the afore mentioned Okomayin title holders are his subjects while the so called ``Ukana Agumagu`` are the dissenting members of Eshimozoko clan as well as the so called ``Oseh and Emah of Eziakuta and Anoseri clans.
    In the same vane and traditionally, The Oshidu is the Head of Eziobe group of clans which are made up of :- Eziodu, Ezioga, Eziakuta, Eziakozi and Anoverewa clans and all the Oseh title holders are his subjects. The Oshemi Onayinmi is the Head of Eshimozoko clan and Ukana title holders are his subjects. Oshemdase Ooreyin is the Head of Anonyente clan and Oseh title holders in that clan are his subjects while Otu Koin Koin is the Head of Anona clan and Oseh title holders are also his subjects.
    It has to be made abundantly clear that members of the Eziezu group of clans are NOT royal family as erorniously stated above as they inter marry, hence government refers to them as members of the ``Ruling Houses``. And what brought about the various clanish grouping in Igarra is as a result of marriage of convinience and nothing else.

The case of Ahmed Awela, Murtala (Eti Bobo) among other Ebira youths

Ismail M. Kabir, Lagos. Between controversial existence and a contentious exit. There are various sides to a story. For an event that happens with few or no significant eye witness, the news come in different versions; some partially correct, others completely cooked up. In some cases, such non-witnessed event pass round as rumour until eventually confirmed. Rumour it was, when a phone call from Okene announced the death of two famous Ebira youths! They were killed by the Police, reported the news. Being on a Sunday when nothing too special should ensue save for the usual church services and social functions, the news sounded as the most unexpected, as a matter of fact, incredible! The thought of losing such youths on an ordinary day like Sunday undoubtedly was the reason for the astonishment. Not a single person of Ebira origin, within or outside the soil would believe such shocker upon first hearing. Text messages, phone calls and of course physical enquiries lingered, all in an atte

The Obege legend

In the earliest generations when the art of magic was yet a myth to the people, there was born a boy into a family of hunters in the village of Eika - one of the six communities that comprised the ancestral groups. He was believed to have been born with a leaf in his hand and to the elders of then, that was prognostic of what he would be - a native healer. And had grown up performing wonders. His kinsmen were all hunters, they would deny the boy the opportunity to follow them hunting, purely on age ground - and he was really too young to go hunting in the forest. They would leave him in the house with the women as they set out on their hunting expedition. But they had meet the young Obege in the forest roasting a fair member of the forest’s game, all alone - and unarmed! The elders had to defer to this wonderful boy. Obege as an adult was more than human. His fame had spread all over the land: he was a healer of most seemingly incurable diseases, he was a rain maker, assumed more divin
