Momoh Jimoh Lukman (25) is an Orphan who hails from a very humble background in Nagazi, Adavi LGA.
He is the first of 3 children with 2 younger siblings (a boy and a girl).
Since his parents couldn't sponsor his studies beyond college, he taught in a private elementary school before joining a barbing saloon where he earned about N3,000/month as a helping hand after loosing his teaching job.
With the meagre income, he supported his younger ones and his mother, a poor widow who runs a petty trade on candies.
Luck came Momohjimoh's way in 2010 when he, with a handful of friends were presented with the opportunity to locate and secure a land to erect a Glo telecom mast. The excited friends boarded a motorbike and sped towards Abobo area of Okene-Lokoja road where a suitable spot for the mast has been identified.
Just few meters from the Federal college of education in Otite, a fast moving vehicle knocked the two boys off the highway leaving Momohjimoh badly injured while the friend sustained minor scratch. The vehicle sped off, leaving the victims at the mercy of good Samaritans who rushed to the scene of the accident.
The duo were rushed to Dosam clinic, a nearby private health centre.
As words got to Glo officials who initiated the deal, they promptly responded with an offer to relocate the victim to a better hospital for adequate medical attention. But unfortunately, Dosam clinics assured the Glo agents of their capacity to cater for the victim, claiming the injury as a minor case.
According to Nuhu, a friend of the victim, Glo agents paid up the medical bill presented by Dosam clinic and went away.
Medical report |
He was referred to a hospital in Akure. His perceived luck turned out a doom ever since! He could no longer urinate through his private organ.
He was further referred to a teaching hospital where a Urethra stricture and Bogienge was recommended to enable him urinate normally.
With poor parents and dependant siblings, Momohjimoh has no one to run to. His life has been a nightmare.
With poor parents and dependant siblings, Momohjimoh has no one to run to. His life has been a nightmare.
He has since been moving about with a pipe attached to his urinary system. Since he can no longer control his urine, he wets his body frequently even in public.
Momohjimoh who has since returns to his subordinate barbing job to fetch his daily bread can no longer cope due to the frequent wetting.
This promising young boy knows nobody. He lacks support and care. His few friends have done their best but can only do little. He has lost the confidence of free association.
Surgery quotation |
His predicament can be better imagined as he now lives on one thing...hope!
Let's help this boy regain his health.
They have sent out appeals to many people including Adavi LGA but all yielded nothing.
The supposed surgery according to his medical reports is less than N300,000 (Three hundred thousand naira) to enable Momohjimoh regain the control of his urine.
We are now appealing to NGOs, CSOs and spirited individuals to intervene in this urgent request to help the boy re-integrate into the society.
