The Ohinoyi of Ebiraland,Dr. Ado Ibrahim will today know his fate as the Supreme Court is expected to deliver judgment in an appeal case brought before it by the first-class Kogi king. Ibrahim had challenged his dethronement by the Court of Appeal and Kogi State High Court.
Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad who led a 5-man panel of justices of the apex court had fixed today June 5 for judgment after listening to counsel to parties in the suit who adopted their final brief of arguments.
Ibrahim was sued by a group of Ebira chieftaincy stool stakeholders in 1998 following his alleged wrongful appointment by Col. Bzigu Afakirya, the then Kogi State military administrator on June 2, 1997. The Ebira monarch had joined seven other contestants, Kogi State Government and Attorney-General and Commissioner of Justice as respondents in the suit.
The complainants in the appeal are Maigida Lawal, Momoh Jimoh, Ibrahim Ohida, Ahmadu Anivbassa, Isa Sani Omolori, Idris Seriki and Momoh Sanni.
