The management board of Ovidi communications (owners of Tao FM Radio station) have published list of donors to the public fund raising appeal circulated across the community following the terror attack on the radio station some months ago.
Contrary to rumours making rounds that millions of naira have been raised by the radio station from concerned citizens especially politicians from the community, not a single Ebira politician has so far contributed a dime to the purse of the radio station as the list indicates.
It could be recalled that shortly after the deadly attack by unknown gunmen that claimed four lives and caused major damage to the building housing the FM station in Kuroko Adavi LGA of Kogi State on Monday April 27th 2015, an urgent appeal to raise funds for the revival of the darling station was raised by Ebira Youth Congress (EYC).
The appeal prompted the release of a dedicated bank account by the management of the radio station. The account information was distributed through various news media to source voluntary donations from the public especially members Ebira Communities across Nigeria and beyond.
Sadly, in spite of endless sympathy visits by politicians to the scene of the attack with spurious promises to do everything possible to revive the station, none of them has donated or fulfilled their promise to rebuild the station.
