Tension in Okene as police fired an innocent boy on the leg

An unidentified policeman from the Okene division has shot a young boy, in his way to his motor mechanics workshop this morning.

According to sources around the scene of the incidence, the boy, currently lying in a critical condition at the Okene general hospital is a roadside motor mechanic who normally takes a short route, an alley between GRA Okene and the St. Andrew's Primary school to his workshop.

Report has it that The Boy whose name we are yet to findout was heading to his workshop when the policemen him, a call he refused to heed as he was running late.

A trigger-happy police office was said to have fired at him three times at a close range, claiming that The boy attempted to snatch their gun.

This claim by the police is highly refuted by youths in the area who said the police van was parked about 500mtrs away from the fated Boy.

No clear reason has been given for his mishap in the hands of the Police.

As at the time of filing this reports, there is tension in the town as youths troop to the hospital where the boy has been rushed for medical attention.

For an event that happens with few or no significant eye witness, the news come in different versions; some partially correct, others completely cooked up.
