RE: KOGI NLC PLANNED INDUSTRIAL ACTION

From Team AOA

Our attention had been drawn to the planned strike to be embarked upon by the Kogi State branch of the Nigeria Labor Congress over the unpaid salaries of both the State and Local Government owed it by the outgoing government of Gov. Idris Wada. The Chairman, Comrade Onuh Edoka made it known in a release this week.
The debt according to Onuh includes Leave Allowances, Annual Increment Rates, Payment of Promotion Arrears, Full implementation of CONHESS to Health Workers among other debts owe to its members.

This is very unfortunate. We members of the public appreciating the change we've just won by the mandate of the good people of Kogi State are perplexed regards this revelations and the second involving severance packages been prepared on the orders of the governor for the political office holders only. This is too insensitive. We sympathize with the entire government workers of Kogi State and also congratulate them for their resolve to change this insensitive regime.
Our assurances for our priceless civil servants is that the incoming governor His Excellency Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello will not toe this line of failure and shame.
We however appeal to the NLC not to usher in our Governor with crisis. Much as he's determined to lift the living standard of the workers and the entire kogites, this will not easily be achieved with a non united environment.
This planned strike would have yielded if the NLC found the wisdom in organizing during the campaigns. Probably the billions spent on electioneering campaign would have been used judiciously in clearing this arrears. It is ill timed therefore to commence strike action now. Its good that they are discussing this. It further expose what an insensitive man we have in the helms of the affair.
We will urge the NLC to stage a peaceful protest to the various places of authority and let the world know the injustice meted on them by a government they voted to solve their problems and make life better for them. The world must know the various dirt Wada is leaving behind for the ignorant Adoza to clean.
Be hopeful and wipe your tears. Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello will stand by the flowing milk of his words, assuage your thirsts and never mock you to your face. Welcome to the new direction of leadership with the purpose of giving quality life to all Kogites and those that resides in it.
We want to quickly dispel the claims by Faleke James  the deputy governor elect that Alh. Yahaya Adoza Bello is planing to assassinate him. This is ridiculous. Adoza is from a background where love flows from pure heart. Adoza doesn't believe in politics of bitterness. He is a gentleman of virtue. His decency is never in doubt. Above all, he is a revered muslim with Godly fear.
Faleke may have involved himself in a very mischievous rituals where he may need to pay dearly for. We watched shot movie where a prophet pronounced death to any politician who involve in election rituals. His Excellency does not attend the prophets church and we are very sure he doesn't romance with the prophet in anyway. If that is the case, Faleke should carry his burden and not mudsling our governor. Good health to all men of goodwill.

Ekuechi Festival Of Ebiraland

ORIGIN OF THE FESTIVAL There are few accounts of how the festival started. However, the differences inthese accounts are not fundamental. Generally, Ireba Eku (masquerade cult) wasbelieved to have been formed under the divine instruction of God to check the excesses of women, apart from serving as ancestor worship. Myth has it that aftercreating man and woman as husband and wife, one day God sent for the man but hewas too busy to honour the call. Instead, he requested his wife to heed God’s call onhis behalf. God gave her Irakwo (an egg-like object that contains the secrets of lifeand has the capacity to manifest supernatural powers) for her husband. Having dis-coveredits contents and being fascinated by them, she hid it in her uterus and laterswallowed it without giving it to her husband. She thereafter became quite powerful, performing supernatural feats as turning into any animal and changing back to ahuman being. She could instantly grow wings to fly around in astral travels. ORIGIN OF THE EBIRAS An elder beats the Agidibo to salute the spirits (Photo by EbiraView) Ebira Tao is the largest of the several Ebira groups found in about 8 states of Nigeria including the Federal Capital Teritory (FCT). The other sister groups are Egbura Koto and Ebira Mozum (Kogi state), Ebira Panda, Ebira Oje/Toto (Nassarawa state), Ebira Etuno (Edo state), Ebira Agatu (Benue state) Ebira Oloko (Ondo/Oyo/Osun states). In about 1680 AD, they (along with the Idoma and Igala) migrated out of Wukari a chieftaincy dispute. The Ebira later split into various groups and settled in different locations between 1680 and 1750 AD. The Eb...
