WHY HIS EXCELLENCY ADOZA YAHAYA BELLO MUST HIT GROUND SLOWLY AND WITH CAUTION

Like PMB's presidency,  the AYB governorship of Kogi State is not by accident although both have divine authorship in their manners of emergence as the head of their respective onstituencies ie.  The Federal and state.

Without mincing words it is imperative that we in the Kogi Shift Ambassadors Congratulate and Welcome his Excellency Kogi governor elect to the toughest and most challenging part of his existence, yes it was his choice to become our governor, that cannot be said of the outgoing governor who was drafted in by a godfather, your Excellency struggled for it and when it seams impossible divinity sets in Almighty God Fathered you Himself meaning you owe nobody but God and all the people of Kogi State.

The idea of hitting ground running is not in your interest and that of the state you will be inheriting come 27th of January 2016, the Kogi Shift Ambassadors candid congratulatory message to you is to hit ground slowly with caution while you take time to appraise all the liabilities, liquidities, insolvency and the revenue base of the state before promising our people developmental projects based on  your blueprint; especially now that our people are in the lowest part of their social responsibility due the recklessness of the outgoing government and the precarious economic situation of the state and the nation at large, pause sir, take a cue from President Buhari,  know what the state can afford before unveiling the plan. Do not rush to fall into their trap, restructuring the civil service for a better and qualitative Kogi service delivery in terms of utilities and internal revenue generation with sound IGR facilities having little or no loop holes for embezzlement and corrupt practices which can be modelled after Lagos, Kano or Rivers to achieve self reliance should be your administration's first priority.

We must at this juncture, reiterate that the quality of his Excellency's transition committee will go a long way to expose the true picture of the state's situation, we suggest that seasoned civil servants especially those that have been engaging the outgoing government in the matter of unpaid salaries and allowances should be part of the team.

Furthermore, to set the record straight accessing the Federal government's salary bailout grant and paying all the arrears of salaries and backlog of allowances of the state civil service and pensioners with emphasis on school teachers will go a long way to give the workers hope and the new administration a human face before advancing the infrastructural development of the state a hungry man they say is an angry man. Our prayers is that divinity will aid, guide you and your administration towards delivering a changed Kogi State, once more your Excellency congratulations as you launch a new Kogi State era.

Long live the governor!
Long live Kogi Shift Ambassadors!!
Long live Kogi State!!!

The case of Ahmed Awela, Murtala (Eti Bobo) among other Ebira youths

Ismail M. Kabir, Lagos. Between controversial existence and a contentious exit. There are various sides to a story. For an event that happens with few or no significant eye witness, the news come in different versions; some partially correct, others completely cooked up. In some cases, such non-witnessed event pass round as rumour until eventually confirmed. Rumour it was, when a phone call from Okene announced the death of two famous Ebira youths! They were killed by the Police, reported the news. Being on a Sunday when nothing too special should ensue save for the usual church services and social functions, the news sounded as the most unexpected, as a matter of fact, incredible! The thought of losing such youths on an ordinary day like Sunday undoubtedly was the reason for the astonishment. Not a single person of Ebira origin, within or outside the soil would believe such shocker upon first hearing. Text messages, phone calls and of course physical enquiries lingered, all in an atte...

The Obege legend

In the earliest generations when the art of magic was yet a myth to the people, there was born a boy into a family of hunters in the village of Eika - one of the six communities that comprised the ancestral groups. He was believed to have been born with a leaf in his hand and to the elders of then, that was prognostic of what he would be - a native healer. And had grown up performing wonders. His kinsmen were all hunters, they would deny the boy the opportunity to follow them hunting, purely on age ground - and he was really too young to go hunting in the forest. They would leave him in the house with the women as they set out on their hunting expedition. But they had meet the young Obege in the forest roasting a fair member of the forest’s game, all alone - and unarmed! The elders had to defer to this wonderful boy. Obege as an adult was more than human. His fame had spread all over the land: he was a healer of most seemingly incurable diseases, he was a rain maker, assumed more divin...
