Senator Nurudeen Abatemi-Usman has stressed the need for the entire people of Kogi State to cooperate with the new government in the state under the leadership of Alhaji Yahaya Bello of All Progressives Congress, APC.
According to Abatemi-Usman, who was on the entourage of the National Chairman of APC, John Odigie Oyegun to Bello’s inauguration in Lokoja on Wednesday, it is only with the total support of the people that the new governor can achieve whatever plans he has to transform the state.
Speaking through his Special Assistant on media and publicity, Michael Jegede, in a statement, the Senator said: “I rejoice with the entire people of Kogi State as we begin a new era with the inauguration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the fourth Executive Governor of the state. There is need for us to show him support and align ourselves with the new government to effectively tackle the numerous challenges and problems facing the state at the moment. We must understand that nothing meaningful can be achieved without the cooperation of the people. Therefore, we must work together as a people to bring about a better Kogi State that we have all yearned for. The government of change has come to our dear state and it is important that we all embrace it.”
Abatemi-Usman who was next to Bello in the APC guber primary election last year, urged him to strive hard to carry all citizens in the state along in his administration by giving every ethnic group a sense of belonging. He also called on the new governor to endeavour to keep to his promise of upholding zero tolerance for corruption, adding that transparency and accountability should be his watchwords.
