VOTE OF CONFIDENCE PASSED ON HON. LAWI

VOTE OF CONFIDENCE PASSED ON HON. LAWI. MEMBER KOGI STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY, REPRESENTING OKENE 1 CONSTITUENCY.

BY TEAMAOA

Anebira were thrown into the abyss of political quagmire after the death of late Sen. A. T Ahmed, all who rose after him to take up the helms of  political leadership went the same way and we have been left more like orphans until the recent restoration of glory.

It is then heart warming to see that out of the loins of our late political icon have risen a young politician in the person of Hon. Lawi, who have decided to follow his father's footsteps and surpass his achievements.
Hon. Lawi representing Okene 1 constituency in the Kogi state House of Assembly group have paid his dues and have not stopped in the performance of his legislative duties or his community development services.
Since his inauguration as a member of KGHA, Hon. Lawi have performed well.

We have noted, having considered and analysed his performances, and are convinced that the lawmaker have surpassed the expectations of his constituency.

Some of the projects
which will forever remain indelible in our minds,
include: “payment of hospital bills of an indigent girl with a life threatening ear tumor, moving a motion, appealing to the government to reconstruct the Etahi Bridge connecting Idoji and Onyukoko wards of Okene 1 constituency in Okene Local Government Area, and  paying of accommodation fees for school boys from his constituency, among other feats.

We  have seen beyond
reasonable doubt that Hon. Lawi has made himself a man of Honour; a Gem of our time, an advocate of good governance, the pride of the legislature, one of Kogi state bravest and boldest lawmakers, a hero of Ebira people and above all an exceptional lawmaker by making a robust representation in the Kogi state State House of Assembly with dividends of
democracy felt by communities in Okene 1 constituency with various sustainable human and structural projects.

Since the creation of Okene 1 constituency, no honourable member has ever impacted positively into the lives of the people like the incumbent representative, Hon Lawi Ahmed.

All these achievements have triggered us to pass him a vote of confidence unanimously and also assure him of our unflinching support in his present and future political endeavors.

While congratulating him on his recorded achievements, we are also using this medium to encourage him to continue with his worthy representation. Future political quests will be judged based on antecedents and achievements and we are bold to say that Hon. Lawi have started well.
We wish him more Successes .

The case of Ahmed Awela, Murtala (Eti Bobo) among other Ebira youths

Ismail M. Kabir, Lagos. Between controversial existence and a contentious exit. There are various sides to a story. For an event that happens with few or no significant eye witness, the news come in different versions; some partially correct, others completely cooked up. In some cases, such non-witnessed event pass round as rumour until eventually confirmed. Rumour it was, when a phone call from Okene announced the death of two famous Ebira youths! They were killed by the Police, reported the news. Being on a Sunday when nothing too special should ensue save for the usual church services and social functions, the news sounded as the most unexpected, as a matter of fact, incredible! The thought of losing such youths on an ordinary day like Sunday undoubtedly was the reason for the astonishment. Not a single person of Ebira origin, within or outside the soil would believe such shocker upon first hearing. Text messages, phone calls and of course physical enquiries lingered, all in an atte

The Obege legend

In the earliest generations when the art of magic was yet a myth to the people, there was born a boy into a family of hunters in the village of Eika - one of the six communities that comprised the ancestral groups. He was believed to have been born with a leaf in his hand and to the elders of then, that was prognostic of what he would be - a native healer. And had grown up performing wonders. His kinsmen were all hunters, they would deny the boy the opportunity to follow them hunting, purely on age ground - and he was really too young to go hunting in the forest. They would leave him in the house with the women as they set out on their hunting expedition. But they had meet the young Obege in the forest roasting a fair member of the forest’s game, all alone - and unarmed! The elders had to defer to this wonderful boy. Obege as an adult was more than human. His fame had spread all over the land: he was a healer of most seemingly incurable diseases, he was a rain maker, assumed more divin
