The Traditional title of Akiliwo Ejeh (Strength of the King) Olamaboro has been conferred on Dr. Sanusi Ohiare, the exeuctive director of Rural Electrification Fund. The event held over the weekend at the palace of Ejeh of Olamaboro, in Okpo town, Olamaboro local government area, Kogi State.
His Royal Highness, Chief Simeon Ujah, the paramount ruler of Olamaboro conferred the prestigious title on Dr. Sanusi alongside other illustrious sons of Olamaboro and Okunland who received various titles in appreciation of their support to the kingdom.
While acknowledging the impact of Govenor Yahaya Bello's administration at the grassroots, the deputy governor of Kogi state, His Excellency Chief Edward Onoja who chaired the epoch event commended the governor for building a road "that will stand the test of time in Olamaboro". Onoja further noted that the governor's infrastructural transformation in the community made the long trip to the event a hitch-free experience for the numerous guests.
On his part, Dr. Sanusi Ohiare emphasized that the event was not just a demostration of love but also the demystification of the age-long unfounded mistrusts amongst the tribes of Kogi, noting that the rare display of Olamaboro traditional council led by His Royal Highness, the Eje of Olamaboro has proven that though tongue may differ but we thrive in unity.
He said " In the heart of Igala civilization, an Ebira and Okun sons are honoured along other Igala illustrious sons, far away from their homes.
"... These awards confered on us - in reality - transcends us; it is a message to the world that a new Kogi is here; a land where peace shall define our lives and mutuality shall be our creed".
Dr. Sanusi who praised the uniting spirit of EBIGO initiative said no one would have imagined the fusion of such cultural identities save for the ingenuity of the white lion, Gov. Yahaya Adoza Bello and his workaholic deputy who he described as his Omamaya Twin brother, Chief Edward Onoja.
"We have realized that nothing happens by chance. That no man becomes great by abandoning our identity. Clearly, our state's hope of economic cum political freedom and development can only materialize out of conscious and deliberate determination and collective responsibility of all of us, as government can not do everything", Dr. Sanusi said.
He then thanked his colleagues, family members, friends and well wishers that graced the event while urging the good people of Kogi state to begin to identify what and how he or she can add to the development of the state.
In his remark at the reception/fund raising event for the proposed official palace of the Ejeh Olamaboro, HRH Chief Simeon noted that the titles conferred on the recipients were his show of appreciation for their support to his community whenever the need arose. Chief Simeon Ujah thanked the guests that graced the event from far an near and wished them safe return to their various destination.
