Adomu Muhammed Etudaiye, a renown philanthropist from Okene, Kogi State, has paid the Senior Secondary Certificate Examinations (SSCE) fees for over 100 indigent Senior Secondary School in kogi Central Senatorial District.
Etudaiye said, in Okene on Wednesday 23rd February that the gesture was aimed at complementing the Ebira Youth Congress’s educational development efforts.
He said the beneficiaries were carefully selected from some public secondary schools in Ebiraland.
According to his representative, Hon. Habib Ikunaiye, the beneficiaries are the children of less privileged individuals within Kogi Central who are designated to sit for the examination but could not afford the fees.
He described education as the bedrock of development whose value must not be subordinated under any reason.
Ikunaiye therefore called on other public-spirited people in Ebiraland to emulate the gesture by investing in education to guarantee bright future for children who are the future leaders, as “this is how we can eradicate indolence and encourage diligence among our teeming youths.”
Etudaiye also announced that he has concluded arrangement to establish a Foundation with Educational Endowment Funds that will be specially dedicated to helping indigent students through the provision of scholarships and bursary.
He added that emphasis would be placed on those studying professional courses like medicine, law, engineering and agriculture among others.
The philanthropist lauded the efforts of the Ebira Youth Congress in the promotion of education.
The President General of Ebira Youths Congress confirmed this development and reported that the over 100 students were selected from 28 secondary schools in Kogi central Senatorial District.
The fund is being disbursed by Ebira Youth Congress, a body that is committed to catering for the educational needs of Ebira Youths.
For transparency purposes, the managers of the funds have engaged SSCE Registration Agents to authenticate students identities through CASS process.
