Kogi @ 31: A Fitting Occasion to Redefine Her Governance And Angle of Inclination For Greater Prosperity

By Engr. YUSUF MOMOHJIMOH ONDEKU
AUGUST 30, 2022

On behalf of my family, I congratulate His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State for making this 31st anniversary a remarkable milestone.

I commend the many officials, public servants, politicians, opinion molders, volunteers and the founding fathers whose dedication and sacrifices made the creation of the state and certification possible under challenging conditions and serious politicking.

After 31yrs, that State, which beguiled national interests, political interests, regional interests, ethical interests and agitations of all sorts is enjoying deep bonds between her people, shared values, and shared common interests in democracy, security, mutually beneficial trade, and respect for human rights.

The cooperation between the Ebiras, the Igalas and the Okuns has improved our governance, public health, livelihoods, security, and environmental protections within the three (3) senatorial districts and throughout the State. Therefore, we are only eager to work with His Excellency, Yahaya Bello's administration to strengthen the relationship and reposition our State and it's governance towards an enviable future which I will inherit soon.

Celebrating Kogi State @31 is, to me, a fitting occasion to redefine her governance and angle of inclination, especially at this critical time for greater prosperity.

I wish Kogites a lot of success, progress and prosperity for many years ahead.

Together we can ensure that democracy delivers greater opportunities to our State's citizens.

Congratulations His Excellency, Yahaya Bello,
Congratulations Kogites.

The case of Ahmed Awela, Murtala (Eti Bobo) among other Ebira youths

Ismail M. Kabir, Lagos. Between controversial existence and a contentious exit. There are various sides to a story. For an event that happens with few or no significant eye witness, the news come in different versions; some partially correct, others completely cooked up. In some cases, such non-witnessed event pass round as rumour until eventually confirmed. Rumour it was, when a phone call from Okene announced the death of two famous Ebira youths! They were killed by the Police, reported the news. Being on a Sunday when nothing too special should ensue save for the usual church services and social functions, the news sounded as the most unexpected, as a matter of fact, incredible! The thought of losing such youths on an ordinary day like Sunday undoubtedly was the reason for the astonishment. Not a single person of Ebira origin, within or outside the soil would believe such shocker upon first hearing. Text messages, phone calls and of course physical enquiries lingered, all in an atte...
