EPA FORMALLY FLAGS OFF COMMUNITY MOBILIZATION CAMPAIGNS FOR THE 2023 POPULATION CENSUS, CHARGES ALL TO BE INVOLVED

With barely a month to the much-talked-about 2023 population census, preparation for the success of the exercise in Kogi Central Senatorial District gained a major boost as Ebira People's Association (EPA) formally flags off its district-wide mobilization campaigns today 4th April, 2023.

The flag-off which took place at the Okene Council Secretariat was attended by representatives of civil society groups, community based organizations, youths and women groups, professional bodies and the political class. 

Speaking at a courtesy call to the executive chairman of Okene local council chairman, Hon. Abdulrazak Mohammed, shortly before the declaration of the flag-off, Dr Godwin Oyibo, the President-General, EPA, pointed out that a lot of grand works had commenced earlier, and that what was being done today was a formal and earnest commencement of an all-out mobilization campaigns for the enumeration exercise due to start in about 30days time. The President-General, harping on the importance of the census, appealed to the council chairman and his counterparts in Kogi Central Senatorial District to rise up to the occasion by using their good offices to complement what is being done by the community as non-state actors. He further charged all the council chairmen to appoint census desk officers in their respective councils.

We Cannot Afford to Fail- Hon. Abdulrazak Mohammed

Commending and appreciating EPA for the efforts on census, Hon. Abdulrazak Mohammed, the Executive chairman of Okene LGA, announced that the council has put in place her own committee on the census headed by Hon. Jatto. The chairman used the opportunity to announce a donation of an office Complex to EPA to be used as situation room outlet.

EPA HAS COME TO REENERGIZE US- OHI OKENGWE

On his part, the Ohi Okenqwe, HRH Alh. Anaje, while receiving the census campaign train of EPA in His palace at Okengwe, disclosed that the efforts by EPA will further push them (the Ohis) to do more, having been meeting at the level of Ohis to strategize for the census. He promised to offer any assistance within his reach for the success of the exercise in the land.

Pleased by the efforts being made by EPA and other concerned bodies in the land towards the census exercise, the Ohi of Okene, HRH, Alh. Mamman Okatahi, has declared that he will lead all the graded chiefs in Okene district to work with EPA in ensuring that residents in the land are fully mobilized for the census program. The Ohi stated this while receiving EPA census campaign train at his palace earlier today.

We All Have Got A Big Job Before Us- Ohi Ihima

"All and sundry in Kogi Central Senatorial District have a responsibility to ensure that the land is well-mobilized for this all-important census exercise", said the Ohi Ihima, HRH, Alh. Abdulkareem Ogido, who was visibly impressed by the vigour and resources being deployed by EPA ahead of the exercise. The Ohi maintained that population census program is a critical Civic responsibility that all well-meaning residents in Kogi Central should take with all the seriousness it deserves. He again pledged the commitment of the Ohis to the success of the exercise.

NURTW Donates Mass Transit Buses to EPA 

Poised to also contribute its quota to the critical mobilization of the public for the population census exercise, the National Union of Road Transport Workers, Kogi Central Chapter, has donated three mass transit Buses to EPA for the census mobilization. The President-General of EPA, Dr. Godwin Oyibo and the Executive Chairman of Okene local government council, Hon. Abdulrazak Mohammed, took formal delivery of the vehicles earlier today at the Okene local government Secretariat. The vehicles which will remain with EPA until the census is done with were attached with drivers and fully fueled to further ease the burden of movement for EPA. 

Alh Abdulraheed Usman Abdullahi (Easy Life), Donates Office/Secretariat to EPA

A Secretariat/office outlet has been donated to EPA by Alh. Abdulraheed Usman, the CEO l of Easy Life Hotel and Suits at Iruvucheba, Okene. The office is to house the administrative activities of the Taskforce of EPA for the census. The office will be used for entertaining complaints, suggestions and other technical issues on the census from the general public who are urged to explore the office for all relevant matters. 

Declaring the Secretariat open, Hon. Abdulrazak Mohammed, the executive chairman of Okene local government council, commended Alh. Abdulraheed Usman for the donation of the office  which the chairman described as an act of patriotism. Additionally, Alh. Abdulraheed Usman Abdullahi serves as the Chairman, Logistics sub-committee of the census Taskforce.
