Ododo: The unassuming Faithful Servant

 By Michael Onimisi Ajibade

Faithfulness is defined as fidelity, the act of being loyal and true; it is steadfastness in affection and allegiance to a person, a cause, or a belief. It is unwavering devotion to a friend, a vow, or a cause.

This is exactly the personae of a servant who stood reliably and outstandingly with his principal from the days of aspirations to The New Direction Government and The Let’s Do More administration.

And that faithful servant who is incontrovertibly unassuming is Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman the candidate of APC in the November Governorship elections.

Unbeknown to many, he was doing so much behind the scenes that the public did not know. Simplicity, humility, and humanity are his essential guide and watchwords. Ododo distinguishes  himself by being one of the less reverberating names amongst the members of the GYB administration yet the public acknowledged and adjudged him as one of the most generous and strategic givers GYB has nurtured, for his exemplifying philanthropic gestures, meekness, and silent political effectiveness even before he emerged as the candidate of APC.

Ododo’s impact on youth empowerment, community development, and engagement is second to none; a feat he emulated and mastered from his principal and mentor, Governor Yahaya Bello. He does this quietly according to the dictates of the holy books without letting the public know. How else can one be Godly and altruistic?

He is mindful of what he says, what he does, how he does it, and when to do it. He is reliable and honest with his words by fulfilling all his promises and pledges. These are the fundamental qualities of the kind of leader we deserve at this critical moment, to consolidate the great achievements of GYB

Ododo has demonstrated substantial evidential signs and values that he is a candidate whom we can trust to be faithful to every promise he has made by delivering greater dividends of democracy to the masses. Ododo’s mandate is a mandate that all well-meaning Kogites who desire a greater Kogi state and impactful dividend of democracy must support irrespective of religion, tribe, and other affiliations.
IT IS A PREMIER MANDATE! IT IS A PREMIUM MANDATE!! IT IS A MANDATE FOR RENEWED DIRECTION

The ultimate goal of this mandate is not just to win the election but to provide good leadership and governance experience that are amenable to the expectations of the people of Kogi State.

The case of Ahmed Awela, Murtala (Eti Bobo) among other Ebira youths

Ismail M. Kabir, Lagos. Between controversial existence and a contentious exit. There are various sides to a story. For an event that happens with few or no significant eye witness, the news come in different versions; some partially correct, others completely cooked up. In some cases, such non-witnessed event pass round as rumour until eventually confirmed. Rumour it was, when a phone call from Okene announced the death of two famous Ebira youths! They were killed by the Police, reported the news. Being on a Sunday when nothing too special should ensue save for the usual church services and social functions, the news sounded as the most unexpected, as a matter of fact, incredible! The thought of losing such youths on an ordinary day like Sunday undoubtedly was the reason for the astonishment. Not a single person of Ebira origin, within or outside the soil would believe such shocker upon first hearing. Text messages, phone calls and of course physical enquiries lingered, all in an atte

The Obege legend

In the earliest generations when the art of magic was yet a myth to the people, there was born a boy into a family of hunters in the village of Eika - one of the six communities that comprised the ancestral groups. He was believed to have been born with a leaf in his hand and to the elders of then, that was prognostic of what he would be - a native healer. And had grown up performing wonders. His kinsmen were all hunters, they would deny the boy the opportunity to follow them hunting, purely on age ground - and he was really too young to go hunting in the forest. They would leave him in the house with the women as they set out on their hunting expedition. But they had meet the young Obege in the forest roasting a fair member of the forest’s game, all alone - and unarmed! The elders had to defer to this wonderful boy. Obege as an adult was more than human. His fame had spread all over the land: he was a healer of most seemingly incurable diseases, he was a rain maker, assumed more divin
