We Must Preserve The Itinochi Heritage - Ohinoyi of Ebiraland Urges Kogi International Carnival Team
The Paramount ruler of Ebiraland, His Royal Majesty, Alhaji Muhammed Tijani Anaje has called for the preservation of the Itinochi heritage of Ebira people for its economic benefits and cultural sustainability.
The Ohinoyi gave the call on Thursday while receiving a delegation of Kogi International Carnival during a courtesy visit to his palace in Okene.
HRM Dr. Anaje while commending organizers of the forthcoming Kogi International Carnival stressed the need to preserve the age long heritage of the Ebira Traditional Woven Cloth (Itinochi) to avoid losing its glory to other ethnic tribes in Nigeria.
The KIC Kogi Central delegation led by suberu Onimisi Nusa, Chairman, Central Zonal Committee in company of Prof. Solomon Avidime was received at the Ohinoyi Palace by the Ozomeche cultural group.
Presenting the objectives of the carnival to the Ohinoyi, Mr. Suberu noted that the event will not only foster unity among the various ethnicity in the state but will also showcase the beautiful arts, colonial and cultural relics of Kogi State to the visitors and the world.
The highpoint of the visit was the presentation of the Carnival brochure and event plan to the Ohinoyi. The delegation commended him for his exemplary leadership which has enthroned unity, peace and tranquility in Ebiraland.
The delegation was given a warm welcome and treated to beautiful entertainment by the Rambo dancers, the Ozomeche and Enyiohu cultural groups.

Adams King, Sunny Okomanyi Etudaiye, Ochu Rasheed, Fatima, Suberu comedian, Ismaila Moh'd Aminu.
