Yuletide Season: Women Affairs Commissioner Celebrates With Special Children, Commend Gov. Ododo For The Joyful Season

The honourable commissioner for women Affairs and social development, Hajia Fatimah Momoh has extended love and support to orphanages and children with special needs in commemoration of the yuletide season.


Honourable Fatimah donated food items and cash gifts to orphanage homes and school for special children across Lokoja metropolis as a gesture of love and care from the Governor Ododo led administration.
While delivering food items to Stagy Orphanage in Adankolo, the commissioner commended the uncommon commitment of the compassionate Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo in putting smiles on the faces of Kogi citizens particularly the less privileged during this festive season.
Hon. Fatimah noted that beside the early payment of salary to ensure timely preparation of the yuletide season for Kogi civil servants, he equally donated food items to both the workers and the needy to make the celebration a memorable one for all.
The commissioner who assured the management of the orphanage homes of Governor Ododo's continuous support  towards raising the children as worthy ambassadors of the state also commended them of their selfless service to humanity.

Similarly, the women Affairs commissioner thanked the principal of Lokoja School for the Deaf, Mrs. Ayodele Anifowoshe and her team of staff for providing adequate care and support for the special children, noting that their proper upkeep have left them always brimming with smiles.
While acknowledging their efforts, Honourable Fatimah thanked the management for a job welldone just as she praised Gov. Usman Ododo for extending love to the special children this season.

"I thank you for taking good care of this children. You make them look so happy and excited despite their challenges.
"I also want to appreciate His Excellency, the executive Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Usman Ododo for remembering our special children as we celebrate the season. We'll continue to do our best to support you", she assured.

Both the management and the children of the visited homes expressed their unreserved gratitude to the Governor and the commissioner for according them a sense of belonging and a reason to celebrate with the rest of the world.
Among the homes visited by the honorable commissioner and her delegation were Stagy Orphanage, Rehoboth Orphanage and Lokoja School for the Deaf, all within Lokoja metropolis.

Written records about the origin of the Ebira people were those compiled from palace sources by the British colonial administrators in early 20th century. The Ebira, through oral tradition, trace their descent to Wukari (in the present Taraba state) where they were a constituent part of the Kwararafa confederation.
