The Launch of Firdous Humanitarian Foundation and Annual Conference

The Meridian Annual Al-Firdous Conference; my takes

Kudos to Ustaz Bello Muhammad Tahir BMT the founder of Al-Firdaus Humanitarian Foundation to have come up with this noble ideas.

The Annual Firdous Conference at the Afims Hotel in Okene organized by AL-FIRDOUS HUMANITARIAN FOUNDATION on 2nd January 2025 called on Muslim parents and the role mothers to prepare the social and family environment for our children to develop into good Muslims.

Sheikh Luqman gave a good will message, which was basically about good parenthood. Sheikh Abuyatama encouraged the audience to prioritise raising of righteous children by ensuring that they dedicated themselves to a lifestyle of worthy emulation. In his conclusion emphasized that as a parent, particularly as a mother can play an important role in shaping the character of a child for the betterment of the society while sighted the words of encouragement from
Sheikh Adam Abdullah El-Ilori's mother, urging her son Sheikh Adam as a young child then to choose the path of becoming a scholar rather than roistering about shaking hand with Sheikh Kamaldeen. Indeed, Sheikh Adam El-Ilori heed to her mother's advice and became an accomplished reputable scholar during his life time even till date.

From Al-Firdaus conference, we gained and gathered numerous insights to our various home about giving a solid foundation of Islamic teaching as the greatest gift we can give our children.

The well researched presentation by Ustaz Abdulqudus Bello on child upbringing stressed the need to begin as soon as possible, be consistent, be patient. be firm, be fun, be a witness for them and above all set an exemplary precedence for them just as Sheikh Imam Musa Galadima leaving behind a gifted son Abuyatama Sheikh Luqman not only his legacy but as a role model for upcoming young brothers in our society and as well as a guide for lover of Knowledge in future.

We equally followed the presentation of Dr. Ahmad Rufai of FCE Okene educating us about what to do about overweight and obesity as it may increase our risk for developing health problems.

Dr Halimah Avosuahi still on health talk in her submission stated that early menarche is an uncontrollable risk factor of breast cancer.

The presentation of all the speakers and key notes were well presented and very interesting...
May Allah reward them all. Ameen

If to go by Islamic philosophy as been preached that we can only benefit our parents and honour them after their death by been upright and praying for them.

For BMT to have founded this preaching platform and humanitarian services foundation couldn't be a surprise to those of us that known his background and loves his deceased father Alhaji Muhammad Bello Okatengwu (may Allah have mercy on him).

BMT father died few years ago, but he did not denied the fact before his death that it is obligatory upon him to religiously trained his children as his worthy successor to make an impact that others may find interesting and guidance towards righteousness.

Ustaz Muhammad Bello Okatengwu once said that he wanted his children to be a Quranic memorizer and a scholar like Sheikh Luqman Imam. Today as Allah have it, he is no more with us but gifted with children who commits the Quran into their memories and promoting the word of God which their late dad has been known for. Hence to me this foundation has explained to us what BMT and his brothers are doing today represent what their father believes and represent. Above all, they have honoured their father name as well as their teacher Abuyatama Sheikh Luqman Imam.

I recalled vividly when BMT father Alhaji Bello Okatengwu once said at Darul Arqam Al-Adaby formerly known as Mahad Al-Adaby Prize Giving Day and Graduation Ceremony that he Alhaji Bello tapped from Imam Musa Galadima vision and foresight in prioritizing his children Islamic education above other knowledge while thanking Sheikh Luqman for his efforts in the cause of advancement of Islamic knowledge by establishing Darul Arqam Al-Adaby at Ateba Agassa Okene has crowned the foresight of Imam by making it easy for them to enrolled their wards.

Today', Bello Okatengwu family has become a highly respected family as knowledgeable in Islamic theology, jurisprudence, Arabist, Quran memorizer, preachers and teachers who imparts knowledge to pupils by mentioning
Our ustazah Bilkis Bint Muhammad Bello, the wife of Sheikh Abuyatama as a female prescher, Ustaz Muhammad Tahir Bello BMT, Ustaz Bar. Abdulqudus, as well as Ustaz's Buhari, Aliyu, Abdulrahaman and the rest as upcoming shining star on the same path their late father Alhaji Bello (Rahamatullah Alaihi) has laid down and as a student of Sheikh Luqman Imam (Hafizahullah Waraah).

Alhamdulillah that Abuyatama Sheikh Luqman Imam's labor in the cause of Allah is not in vain when the founder of Al-Firdaus Humanitarian Foundation in person of BMT is a product of Sheikh Luqman's labor, the BMT brother Ustaz Bello Abdulqudus
that presented talk on child upbringing also same product of Sheikh Luqman's labor, mentioning Barrister Muhammad Muheeb Onimisi holding the Mic and likewise the eloquent Quran reciter Ustadh Usman Muhammad Tasiu are product of Sheikh Luqman's labor.

Don't forget to mention Imam Umar Abdullah (sibawayhi)
The Chief Imam Federal College of Education Okene as a
nephew of same Alhaji Bello Okatengwu and a senior cousin brother of Al-Firdaus founder was amongst the first set of Abuyatama Sheikh Luqman's labor from Darul Arqam Al-Adaby Agassa Okene.

Therefore, my dear brother Bello Muhammad Tahir (BMT), be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the Allah’s work, because your teacher Abuyatama
Sheikh Luqman Bin Imam Musa Abdullahi Galadima known and taught you that your labor in the Allah's cause can never be in vain as Allah clearly stated in verse 29 of al-`Ankabut (The Spider) that: " As for those who struggle in Our cause, We will surely guide them along Our Way. And Allah is certainly with the good-doers".
May Allah bless your (BMT) endeavors. Ameen

The case of Ahmed Awela, Murtala (Eti Bobo) among other Ebira youths

Ismail M. Kabir, Lagos. Between controversial existence and a contentious exit. There are various sides to a story. For an event that happens with few or no significant eye witness, the news come in different versions; some partially correct, others completely cooked up. In some cases, such non-witnessed event pass round as rumour until eventually confirmed. Rumour it was, when a phone call from Okene announced the death of two famous Ebira youths! They were killed by the Police, reported the news. Being on a Sunday when nothing too special should ensue save for the usual church services and social functions, the news sounded as the most unexpected, as a matter of fact, incredible! The thought of losing such youths on an ordinary day like Sunday undoubtedly was the reason for the astonishment. Not a single person of Ebira origin, within or outside the soil would believe such shocker upon first hearing. Text messages, phone calls and of course physical enquiries lingered, all in an atte...
