Kogi state guber aspirant donates N25 million to APC House of Assembly candidates

Alhaji Yahaya Bello Chairman Kogi Youth Arise group and stalwart of All Progressive Congress (APC) assisted 25 APC Assembly Candidates with N25m Campaign Support. Each of the 25 party candidates jostling for the April 11 House of Assembly seats in Kogi State with N1m. Kabir The Kogi state governorship aspirant, Alhaji Abdulazeez Omeiza Aliyu has been told not to disappoint the people of Kogi central senatorial district in the face of growing support for his ambition. The call was made yesterday in Abuja when a group of youth from Kogi central met with the aspirant, Alhaji Abdulazeez Omeiza Aliyu who is contesting under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). DLG of Adavi released unhurt by his abductors

By Ismail M. Kabir The Director of Local Government (DLG) of Adavi LGA, Alhaji Abdulazeez Ohere has been released by his abductors after about a week in captivity. Alhaji Abdulazeez was kidnapped on Sunday last week at his home around the Ekuku area of Agasa in Okene LGA of Kogi state at about 1:00am when gunmen forced their way into his home and whisked him away in his official vehicle to an unknown destination after dispossessing his wife of her valuables. Following his abduction, his family members alerted the police and embarked on public appeal for useful information towards unveiling his whereabout. Speaking with a family source this morning, EbiraView gathered that Abdulazeez Ohere has been safely released and has reunited with his family. According to Engr. DLG of Adavi LGA Kidnapped

The Director of Local Government (DLG) , Adavi Local Government Council in Kogi state, Alhaji Abdullazeez Ohere was on Saturday evening kidnapped by some unknown gunmen in his house at Agassa in Okene local government area of the state. According to report by Per Second News, the kidnappers numbering about ten jumped over the fortified fence of the DLG house at Agassa, a community in  Okene local government at about 11 : 00 pm on Saturday. The hoodlums was said to have used a dynamite to break the main door of the house before they gained access to  Ohere's residence. According to source, the kidnappers  on  entering   the house collected all the phones  of occupants in the residence and told the DLG that they were hired to assassinate him , but if he  co-operate they will not kill him. Ajaokuta: PDP Youth Group Alleges Indiscriminate Arrests

Bello Lokoja — A youth group of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Youth Vanguard, has threatened to take legal action against the police over "indiscriminate arrest" of its members in Ajaokuta Local Government Area of the state. President of PDP Youth Vanguard, Ajaokuta chapter, Comrade Irikiti James Irikiti, said yesterday in Lokoja that the arrests were politically-motivated. "We are using this medium to draw the attention of the Inspector General, Mr. Suleiman Abba and the state commissioner of police to the indiscriminate arrests of some PDP members in Ajaokuta, based on a petition said to have been written by a lawmaker, alleging the kidnap of his mother", he said. Responding, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Elvis Aguebor, said they are not involved in the political or indiscriminate arrest of anyone. Adoke Pays WAEC Fees for Students in Kogi Central

Muhammed Adoke (SAN) has promised to pay the WAEC fees of Secondary school students   in Kogi central currently preparing for their final exams. He made the declaration at the PDP stakeholders meeting recently held at the FCE Okene. Adoke made the promise in response to the plea from parents who besieged the venue of the programme to solicit the support of the Justice Minister following the announcement by the Kogi state governor, Capt. Idris Wada that the state government would not be able to pay for the students this year. The state government has been responsible for the payment of the WAEC fees for the students across the state. Youth group advocates quality leadership

Ibrahim Momohjimoh (Daily Times), Lokoja The Dean, School of Post Graduate Studies, Nigeria Defence Academy (NDA) Kaduna, Professor Adams Abere, has identified lack of ethical values as the major problem militating against the growth and development of Ebira ethnic group of Kogi State. In a key note address, at the 12th edition of Ebira National Youth Summit, over the weekend, in Okene, the headquarters of Central Senatorial district of the state, Abere said until Ebira-speaking people resolved to go embrace, anew, age-long ethical values of hard work, courageous virtue, vitality among others, Ebira nation may continue to dwell in a perpetual decline in both infrastructure and human capital development.
