Matthew Adeiza wins International Essay Contest

Matthew Ohiani Adeiza, a 400-level student of Mass Communication at the University of Jos, has emerged second place winner of the 2009 edition of the Culture of Enterprise International Student Essay Contest. The second place prize is $5000. The award ceremony at which Mr Adeiza was physically present, took place yesterday at the Harvard Club of New York. The first place winner was Matthew Shaffer of Yale University while Rachael Bishop of Mercer University, (both in the United States), came third. The essay contest is an initiative of the Intercollegiate Studies Institute, ISI, a non-governmental organization committed to academic excellence and holistic education. It is based in Delaware, United States. EMERGENCY: Fuel truck crashes into Adavi Corpers lodge

A fuel tanker laden with with diesel has just crashed into Adavi LG corpers lodge, Okunchi Adavi local government of Kogi state. The incident which happened at about 10 minutes past 12pm thiss afternoon left about 5 injured and a woman crushed to death. EbiraView, upon arriving the scene almost immediately after the crash, put a call to the office of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) whicch aattracted rapid response from the sectoral office in Ogori-Mangogo. As at the time of filing this report, the lady, simply identified as Bariki (Mama Nazir) was still trapped under the huge truck as youth in the area threaten to block traffic flow to attract the needed response from the Local government. Due to the rising threat of blindness in the country and the world, the foundation recently embarked on a broad campaign against blindness in Ebiraland, in tune with the United Nations’ target of reducing blindness to its bearest minimum by year 2020. First, we concede an all-time opportunity of governing this State to Igalas when we arrived Kogi State. The nostalgia of old-time brotherhood in the then Kabba Province urged us to allow Igalas have a bite at the cherry. Now they have transfixed themselves to the position where they can consume all the cherry while we watch helplessly.
