Ed Jatto: African music and rhymes is a multi-talented instrumentalist who has toured and performed extensively for over 15 years in USA.A native of Ebira in Kogi state of Nigeria, Ed Jatto performed on over 100 recordings (albums and CDs) and is recognised in the who's who in African Music live performances and CD recordings. Jatto a song writer, musician and producer who came back home to his native country Nigeria in 2004 to start a recording studio is also the owner of Riverdale Music Recording Studio in Maryland, USA. Ebira Personality Profile: Sefi Atta

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, Sefiya Atta trained as an accountant in London and began to write while she was working in New York. She is a graduate of the creative writing program at Antioch University, Los Angeles, and has won prizes from Zoetrope (3rd prize, Short Fiction Contest, 2002), Red Hen Press (1st prize, Short Story Award, 2003) and the BBC (2nd prize, African Performance for plays, 2002 & 2004). In 2005, she was awarded PEN International’s David TK Wong Prize and her debut novel entitled Everything Good Will Come was published (by Arris Books, England, Interlink Publishing, USA, Double Storey Books, South Africa and Farafina Books, West Africa). She has just written her second novel, entitled Swallow. She lives in Mississippi with her husband Gboyega Ransome-Kuti, a medical doctor, and their daughter, Temi, and teaches at Mississippi State University. Declare Niger Delta, Ajaokuta National Emergencies - Senator Ohize

Leadership (Abuja) 20 November 2007Posted to the web 20 November 2007 Baba Yusuf Senator Salilu Otaru Ohize has called on the federal government to declare the Niger Delta region and Ajaokuta Steel Complex as national emergencies. He said: "It is only by so doing, that the realities of the stark poverty of the people, whose natural endowments help to create wealth upon which the nation depends, can get optimum benefit for nature's blessings." While commending the Senate President, David Mark, for his initiative that took the senators into the Niger Delta for on-the-spot assessment of problems in the area, he, however, noted, "my people are suffering from a similar fate," adding that such a visit was also necessary for other mineral producing areas of the country. The radical lawmaker, who was hosting the press in his constituency in Kogi State, said the press event was necessary as a reminder for President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua to implement his current budget...
