By Engr. YUSUF MOMOHJIMOH ONDEKU AUGUST 30, 2022 On behalf of my family, I congratulate His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State for making this 31st anniversary a remarkable milestone.   I commend the many officials, public servants, politicians, opinion molders, volunteers and the founding fathers whose dedication and sacrifices made the creation of the state and certification possible under challenging conditions and serious politicking. After 31yrs, that State, which beguiled national interests, political interests, regional interests, ethical interests and agitations of all sorts is enjoying deep bonds between her people, shared values, and shared common interests in democracy, security, mutually beneficial trade, and respect for human rights.   The cooperation between the Ebiras, the Igalas and the Okuns has improved our governance, public health, livelihoods, security, and environmental protections within the three (3) s...

RE: OWO TERROR ATTACK - An open Letter

My dear fellow compatriots of Ebira nation, no doubt, the last two days or so have been very trying for all well-meaning Anebira and, by extension, friends of Ebira across the nation who are well-informed of what the true Ebira man represents and stands for, and therefore have chosen to stand by us firmly. Ultimately, it was indeed a moment that attempted to put to test our age-long values of honesty, industry and abhorrence for evils in their forms, not minding the few black sheep that are inherent in every community. This explains the barrage of reactions, responses and general comments of the generality of Ebira people to this heart shattering news that have been largely judicious. It essentially reinforces, before the world, the aversion of the Ebira man for evil and anything untoward for his fellow human.  It goes without saying that had the Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) exercised minimal diligence in his reportage of the feat by the concerned operatives, the resultant confusio...

OWO CHURCH ATTACK UNDER REVIEW: PRESS RELEASE

1. Ebira Youth Congress (EYC) is miffed by the abject connection of Ebira youths to the recent Owo church onslaught in Ondo state as may have been confirmed by authorities.  2. It is quite a thing of great concern and unfortunate event to have supervened amidst the prevailing security threat daring the federation. We uphold the undeniable sanctity of human life and any contravention can naturally stand to face the resistance of the prosperous Ebira people. As the act stands wholy condemned, we are appealing to the government at all levels to beef up security architecture that lives and properties may be safe and criminal suspects, brought to book.  3. For any proactive Chief Executive, the unpredictability of situations in the country today should beckon to extra work on security, which is an agenda taken very seriously by a subsisting Ebira Governor in Kogi state. Just as the Ondo State Governor himself attests, Ebira people are a very good people, hospitable and hardworking...

OPEN LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY, ROTIMI AKEREDOLU, EXECUTIVE GOVERNOR ONDO STATE ON THE INVOLVEMENT OF ANEBIRA IN OWO MASSACRE

By Nasir Onujagbe It is a great shock and pathetic to read from the social media that Anebira was involved in the all condemned Owo massacre which was popularly believed to have been spearheaded by the conventional terrorist, like Bandits, Boko Haram and or ISWAP. However, the statements from the military quarters have shifted the search to some elements in Ebira nation which in all circumstances wasn't palatable to majority of us(Ebira nation). "EBIRA" by definition represent good character, love and care for neighbours with utmost humility and fear of God. A typical Anebira is known for hardworking, sincerity, honesty and incorruptible in nature as reflected in the definition of the term "EBIRA". The People of Ebira nation are predominately farmers with dignity and respect for legitimate earnings hence we rejects indolence and illegality from our way of life. The long time neighborliness of the good people of Ondo State in accommodating us to occupy their land...
