Anebira in Festive mood

With few hours away from Sallah festival, Ebiras arrive home in hundreds to celebrate the festival. Traffic jams in okene hindered our access into Okene main market as our crew captured transaction and exchange of festive greetings in an atmosphere of peace and harmony.

Ebira youth of note: Yusuf Etudaiye

Yusuf Etudaiye is a Contemporary African artist, Born in Nigeria on the west coast of Africa. At the age o f 19, went to the U.S. To study. Went to school at Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa, Oklahoma and later transferred to Oklahoma State University where he studied Art. Etudaiye has worked as a studio potter with a group o f artist at the Earth, Fire, and Spirit Pottery Studio in the small town o f Canton, Oklahoma Etudaiye Potter Studio is now located in McAlester, Oklahoma. He looks at art, "not just as a matter of talent but rather a process of evolution". His Christian background has influenced his ability to be patient which is also evident in his pottery. This also accounts for the strong sense o f African culture in his work. Etudaiye has participated in competitive Art Festivals in various parts o f the nation, both regional and national. American assistance to Ebira communities

Miriam Ikunaiye was recently appointed to the African Affairs advisory Board with the Montgomery County Government in Maryland. In a letter to EbiraView, she said She hopes to use the opportunity to bring focus and assistance to Ebira community. According to her, the month of September has been declared African Heritage month in Montgomery County, the first county to do so in the history of America. What this means is that there will be lines of annual activities every September to promote Africa and African immigrants in the County. She sheds more light. Read more >>>

Ebira Personality Profile: Justice Nasir Ajanah

Justice Nasir Ajanah was born in 1956 to the family of Alhaji MJ Fari Ajanah in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State. His enviable educational career started with Native Authority (Central) primary school Okene where he had his primary education between 1962 and 1968. He proceeded to the prestigious Federal Government College, Keffi in 1969 and graduated in 1973. His excellent result admitted him to do his Higher School Certificate (HSC) at the same college between 1974 and 1975. It is only natural that a brilliant student like Justice Ajanah will have no reason to delay in his educational career. He therefore entered the faculty of Law, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he graduated with LL.B Hons. He proceeded further to the Nigerian Law School and passed his Bar Examination in flying Colors and was called to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
