Kogi Hosts North Central Public Hearing On Review Of The Revenue Allocation Formula By RMAFC

Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Thursday, played host to stakeholders from the North Central Region during a zonal public hearing on the review of the vertical revenue allocation formula by the Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC). Deputy Governor, Chief (Dr.) Edward Onoja declared the Hearing open on behalf of Governor Bello at the State Government House, stating that a comprehensive review is overdue. He noted that the existential realities facing the 3 Tiers of Government necessitate a more equitable sharing plan for all revenue accruing into the Federation Account. Professional Hunters Rescued Kidnapped Victims In Okene

Professional hunters attached to Okene Local Government in the late hours of Wednesday 20th October, 2021 requested and secured approval from the Council Chairman Engr. Abdulrazaq Muhammad to embark on rescue operation at Eretuba forest along Okene-Auchi road after credible intelligence of their location from the locals. The victims, an indigene of Osun state were kidnapped on Monday 18ths October, 2021 along Okene/Ogori-Magongo road. The discreet operation by the professional hunters was successful as the kidnapped victims were rescued unhurt while the kidnappers escaped with various degree of bullet wounds. Locally made guns, charms, rustled castles and other items were also recovered. Sadly, one of the professional hunters paid the supreme price in the course of the operation. Conditional Cash Transfer: Hon. Onyekehi Commends President Buhari As Federal Govt Set To Disburse N1.5Billion To 74,000 Poor Women in Kogi

Kogi State Focal Person of the National Social Investment Programme, Honourable Abdulkareem Onyekehi Suleiman has eulogised President Muhammad Buhari as the National cash transfer office is set to disburse about N1.5 Billion to poor and vulnerable women across Kogi State. The focal person who also doubles as the Special Adviser to Kogi State Governor on Special Projects declared this in a statement released to newsmen today in Lokoja. The focal person said a financial firm, Fortis Mobile engaged by the federal government would disburse the sum of N20,000 each as 4 months arrears of January to April 2021 to over 74,000 poor and vulnerable women in rural communities under close supervision of  Kogi State office of the NSIP. Following his emergence as the finalist among other nominees, the executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello has been awarded as the The Best Performing Democratic Governor of the Year at the Democracy Heroes Award 2021 which held yesterday, Friday 10th June, 2021 at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.
